Dear
Lewis-Clark Valley Medical Professional:
We are
writing to urge you to explore and utilize the FREE LiveStrong Guidebook with
your patients. The guidebook is meant as a tool to guide a cancer survivor from
the point of diagnosis through treatment and beyond. This two-column set
contains helpful information and journal spaces that help survivors address the
physical, emotional and practical concerns they may have during the cancer
journey.
In 2009
the LiveStrong Guidebook was selected as a Gold Winner in the Total Health
information category of the National Health Information Awards program.

The
Guidebooks are FREE (media mail postage
must be paid) from
www.livestrong.org.
In the
Lewis-Clark Valley the postage for our initial supply was provided by the
Lewiston Rotary Club and those copies are given out at the SJRMC Cancer Center,
SJRMC Radiation Oncology Center, Snake River Clinic, CHAS and any Lewis-Clark
Supporting LiveStrong Health & Education Booths.
Why You?
As you may know best, a cancer diagnosis often comes from a doctor who is not a
cancer specialist. The time between initial diagnosis and an appointment with an
oncologist is fraught with both questions and worry for the patient. We think
this guide, while useful at any stage of the journey, can be particularly
helpful to newly diagnosed patients who are confused and looking for legitimate
directions to explore.
Won’t
you consider ordering a few to have in your office?
