   THANK YOU!

Once again I want to thank everyone who has so generously contributed to LiveSTRONG in support of my bicycle ride at the Davis LiveSTRONG Challenge this July.

As in previous LiveSTRONG Challenge rides, this was a wonderful and inspiring experience.

 Nearly 1600 riders  passed through the olive orchards and sunflower fields near Davis California; all of them riding to honor the survivorship or the memory of friends and family members.

Local land owners often gave visible indication of support for the riders, as with this magnificent (and gigantic) yellow bicycle.

Each of you was a huge part of this effort. Your contribution provides newly diagnosed, in treatment and post-treatment cancer survivors with a wide variety of FREE help for themselves and their families. Guidebooks provide the step-by-step guidance from diagnosis thru post-treatment and a journal for recordkeeping for appointments, treatments, prescriptions and much more. The LiveSTRONG Navigation Center provides expert, personal research and direction to address treatment options, second opinions, clinical trials, financial assistance and social/emotional support. LiveSTRONG participates in One Voice Against Cancer, a coalition of 34 Cancer related organizations who address national funding for cancer research.

100 PERCENT of the money we raise at the Challenge goes towards providing services and support to help people cope with their diagnosis, seek help and empower them to take action in the fight.

  In the emotional moment of crossing the finish line, I am reminded that we fight not only for 28 million people surviving cancer, we fight to PREVENT the next 28 million.
